With state and federal incentives, solar panels pay back faster than ever!
Join Matt Liebman and other local Acton homeowners to learn about the potential of solar panels on your home. Is the process complicated? Do solar panels have to face south? What is the pay-back period for solar panels? Is it better to purchase or lease panels? What incentives are available? What about maintenance? Bring all your questions! (Matt also helped to facilitate the solar carports at Congregation Beth Elohim, so he is familiar with solar for nonprofit institutions as well.)
Each Climate Café aims to be a helpful, informal gathering where Acton residents can discuss a fossil fuel free future. Local people who have experience in clean energy technologies will share their insights and answer questions from others who are considering these technologies and who are exploring ways to reduce their carbon footprints. Each week in July and August will be a different focus, with a range of technical and environmental topics. Each session will be one hour, 5-6pm, on Wednesdays. When the weather is good, we will be outside behind the Acton Memorial Library, so feel free to bring a picnic or grab a slice of pizza and relax while we discuss these positive efforts. If the weather is wet, we will be inside in the Library’s meeting room on the first floor. (Sorry, food is discouraged inside.) No need to register. Simply drop by the library.
Many thanks to the Acton Memorial Library for co-hosting these sessions. EnergizeActon.org is a joint effort of the Acton Climate Coalition and the Town of Acton Sustainability Office. We are committed to education about the climate emergency and to the rapid implementation of clean energy and renewable technologies. Other Town clean energy initiatives include Acton Power Choice Green, the Clean Energy Coach Program, Abode Energy Management Consultations (scroll down to “Advanced Consultations”), and the Neighborhood Heating and Cooling Project.
