Electric Vehicle “Petting Zoo” and EV Marketplace Update

Date

July 19, 2023 • 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Location

Are you thinking about an electric vehicle (EV)? The EV “Petting Zoo” is a chance for you to talk with local EV drivers and see a variety of electric vehicles—not only well-known models like Tesla and Chevy Bolt but some newer cars to the market such as the Subaru Solterra and the Kia EV6.  We hope to feature some of the Town’s new electric vehicles as well! Also, look for a short update on the current EV marketplace, including which cars qualify for the federal rebates and the current level of state rebates, along with some special tips and good resources, such as the Drive Green program and others.

The Climate Café aims to be a helpful, informal gathering where Acton residents can discuss a fossil fuel free future.  Local people who have experience in clean energy technologies will share their insights and answer questions from others who are considering these technologies and who are exploring ways to reduce their carbon footprints. Each week in July and August will be a different focus, with a range of technical and environmental topics. Each session will be one hour, 5-6pm, on Wednesdays. When the weather is good, we will be outside behind the Acton Memorial Library, so feel free to bring a picnic or grab a slice of pizza and relax while we discuss these positive efforts. If the weather is wet, we will be inside in the Library’s meeting room on the first floor. (Sorry, food is discouraged inside.)

Many thanks to the Acton Memorial Library for co-hosting these sessions. EnergizeActon.orgis a joint effort of the Acton Climate Coalition and the Town of Acton Sustainability Office. We are committed to education about the climate emergency and to the rapid implementation of clean energy and renewable technologies. Other Town clean energy initiatives include Acton Power Choice Green, the Clean Energy Coach Program, Abode Energy Management Consultations (scroll down to “Advanced Consultations”), and the Neighborhood Heating and Cooling Project.
